If you’re planning to build a pole barn, garage, or livestock shelter in Colorado, there’s no shortage of companies to choose from. National brands and online builders may seem convenient, but when it comes to getting the job done right—local matters.
At VWC Construction, we’re not a big-box builder. We’re a family-owned company based in Cañon City, Colorado, serving our neighbors across Pueblo, Trinidad, Walsenburg, and the surrounding areas with custom buildings built for Colorado weather—and Colorado people.
Here’s why working with a local team like ours makes all the difference.
You’ll Work Directly With the Builder—Not Just a Salesperson in Another State
When you reach out to VWC, you won’t get handed off to a rotating call center or pressured by a corporate sales team. Instead, you’ll get a personal connection to people who know the land, the codes, and the work it takes to build something that lasts.
Meet the Team Behind Your Build
You won’t get passed off to a call center or bounced between departments. When you build with VWC Construction, these are the faces you'll see—and the people who’ll walk with you from start to finish.

Julian Garber
Owner & Project Manager
Julian grew up in the trades, learning the ropes by building storage buildings with his dad. He brings decades of hands-on construction experience and a southern-boy work ethic to every job. From walking your site to reviewing final details, Julian is involved every step of the way. He’s known for being honest, thorough, and always up for talking through your vision—even if you're not quite sure where to start.

Dustin Newland
Sales & Customer Support
Dustin is your first point of contact and your go-to guy throughout the quoting and planning process. He's friendly, knowledgeable, and focused on helping you choose the features and layout that truly fit your goals—without pushing extras you don’t need. Whether you're pricing a basic garage or a fully customized shop, Dustin will make sure you understand your options and feel confident in your build.
We work as a team to make sure you feel informed, respected, and taken care of.
We Know Colorado Dirt, Wind, and Building Codes
When you build with a national company, you risk working with someone who’s never stepped foot in your county. We live and work right here in southern Colorado, and we build every structure to stand up to our unique terrain and climate.
High wind zones in Huerfano County? We know them.
Snow loads in Westcliffe or La Veta? We build for them.
Grading issues or access concerns in rural Las Animas County? We’ve dealt with it all.
We also coordinate permitting with local counties, so you’re not left guessing what’s allowed on your property. We’ve walked this process hundreds of times—and we’ll walk it with you.
Our Name Is on Every Building We Build
We take pride in every structure we put up—because this isn’t just business for us. It’s our family name, and our kids are growing up in this community.
That means we build with:
Honesty
Quality craftsmanship
Customer-first service
And if something’s not right? You don’t have to go through layers of corporate red tape—you can call us, and we’ll fix it.
Many of our builds come from repeat customers and referrals—because people know we’ll show up, do what we say, and stand behind our work.
We Build What We Show
Every project in our gallery is real work by our crew—not a stock image or manufacturer sample.
From garages in Pueblo West to shelters in Aguilar and full barndominiums in Cotopaxi, we’re proud of what we build—and you can see the difference in every photo.

We’re not chasing the sale. We’re building relationships, one barn at a time.
